Wonderscope

Yesterday, we went to a MOPS playdate at Wonderscope Children's Museum.

This lighted table with magnetic shapes was Arya's favorite thing. It's out in the hallway, not in an exhibit, so every time we left a room she ran back to it.

The Farm Exhibit was lots of fun. She played in it more than once. It was nice because we plan on planting a garden this year and I think the play one was a good way to introduce her to it. Also, whenever we go shopping she wants to push the cart. It was nice that here they had a child size cart that she could push. (At home, she has a play cart. But it's plastic and obviously a toy. This one was just like a regular basket only her size.)

Arya was very cute at the water exhibit. She kept using the net to "catch" the other floating toys. Each time she got something scooped up in her net she'd yell "I did it!"

There's a LEGO exhibit. It's all about ocean life and there are play submarines.

These foam blocks were neat.

Arya currently has a slight obsession with birdhouses. If she is drawing a picture or building with blocks-she will tell you it's a birdhouse (I want Bradley to help her build one this spring). With these building pieces in the Tinker Exhibit she "built"- what else- a birdhouse!

Miscellaneous other pictures from our time there

I look forward to take Arya again sometime. I did look into a membership- we'll see.

Snow fun

We got more snow over the weekend (and then more on Wednesday). I do love winter and snow-but am looking forward to spring. I will not complain about the snow or cold until March 20- the first day of Spring!
Arya had not really had a chance to play in the snow this winter, so on Monday she and I bundled up and went with Teddy into the backyard.
Bundled up and ready to head out. She was so excited when I told her we were going to go outside. She immediately informed me that we needed to get her shovel.

She also wanted to make a snowman but it wasn't the right kind of snow; it was too powdery. Instead we packed snow in a bucket and made mounds of snow.

We were only outside for about 15 minutes until it was too cold. As we headed inside Arya started crying saying her fingers hurt. I said "Well at least it was fun while we were out there, right?" She replied, "No! No fun!" despite the fact that she was smiling and laughing while we had been out there.
