Father's Day 2012

Cones

Yesterday, while playing outside, Arya found some orange cones that Daddy had left out. We believe that Arya's favorite color is orange because if you hold out two of something (cup, towel, clothes, etc) and one is orange- that is the one she grabs. So, perhaps that is why she liked the cones. She picked up the cones and carried them back to the dog run. It was as if she wanted to set up an obstacle course for Lilly and Teddy.

Splash Pad!

In my last post, I talked about our latest trip to Iowa. On our last day there we decided to take Arya to the splash pad! It was great!! Arya was a little unsure at first but then went wild and had a blast!

I think it is great for communities to have places like this that are free to the public. A cheap, fun way to cool down on a hot summer day!

June Trip to Iowa

Last weekend we took a trip up to Gramma Suzanne and Grampa Brian's house. It probably seems we do that a lot. Grampa and Gramma have seen Arya at least once a month for the 17 months she's been on this earth. Sometimes we go up there. Sometimes they come down here. I love that my family has the means and opportunities to travel and see each other.
This time Daddy went with us- which was great! Also, Arya's cousin, JD, was up there.

On Saturday, there was a family reunion for Great-Grandma Vaunita's side of the family. Arya took a nap in the motorhome for about half of it, so she missed all the games-so there are no pictures of those.

And this last one is a picture of Arya on Great Grandma Joan's donkey. We thought he was the perfect size for Arya.

A spoonful of sugar...

Last week Arya fed herself yogurt for breakfast. A few months ago she kind of used a spoon to feed herself apple sauce. It was more stab the spoon in to the bowl stick it into her mouth with nothing really on it. This time she was actually scooping the yogurt and getting it in her mouth. A lot of it ended up on her but the majority did end up in her mouth.

Trip to the Zoo, take 2

On Sunday, we made our second zoo trip of the year. Last time, we just did the Africa portion. This time we did the Australia and KidZone portions. Arya REALLY enjoyed this trip!

 Our good friends, Casey and Alyssa joined us along with their son, Jacob.

Daddy loves the blue frogs. He said he wanted one for a pet, which I find humorous because one of the conservation signs said "Do not have frogs as pets."
